PS3 Backup Process

I just picked up a PS3 Slim (the new 40nm one) after I traded in my 60 GB and even though I backed up the system through a system backup, I couldn't transfer my files over since they said it was a different system. I lost quite a few saves although nothing terribly important. I feel bad for Carter's lego files but he hasn't played many of those games in awhile. I love how quiet the Slim is. I got out before my 60 GB gave me any trouble since I've had it for 3 years. It was a good trade in offer. They bumped the trade in on my 60 GB to $175 and gave me $25 per used game towards a new system (min $8 TIV). The new PS3 slim only used a two prong power cord since it uses so little power.
