Hank, It does suck, but on the flip side imagine what 2yrs of dedicated development time is going to do for this game.

I agree Ted. And that has me excited. However, uncertainty swirls around Take-Two like stink on a bum. I'm not so sure we'll ever see 2K on another next-gen console. Part of me thinks this is a soft transition in revealing they're going to stay a Wii exclusive. Imagine how ticked some people would be if they said as much right now? That could hurt Wii sales. So instead of giving the hard truth now, they sell us this line of bunk, and kick out 2K11 hoping it kicks a$$. Once everyone's hooked they announce that they have no intentions of going back to the 360/PS3. But if they're telling the truth I think this is the best thing they could have done. What ticks me off though, is that taking a year off and transitioning to VC should have been done after 2K8. 2K9 was basically a disaster as far as sales and transitioning goes. Kush quite 5 months into the cycle forcing VC to pick up the scraps. Why not scrap it then and revamp for 2K10? There's a chance things could have been recovered by now. Oh well. Saying all of that, I really hope Take-Two sees the value in hockey games. Last year, between NHL10 and 2K10, hockey sales reached over 1M units. Compare that to baseball which sold 1.6M and basketball 1.8M (all totals for PS3/360 only - 2K10 actually did quite well on the WII and PS2). That's not too bad considering hockey is far more a niche sport in the US and probably cheaper to obtain NHL and NHLPA rights. So there IS value in hockey games. But you have to put value into the game. EA has done a terrific job in developing their hockey game. Who's to say that if 2K didn't do the same, total sales could hover around basketballs and baseballs? Edited by Hank, Mar 4 2010, 07:41 AM.
