I'll say the following about the comparison. The level of polish in the Show is just far beyond what you will get in 2K10. In the Show you can hit the select button and scout the opposing pitcher's pitches and pitch speed, check pitch counts at any time, pause and check out the hands of the batters coming up, and little stuff like separating the relievers from the starters in a logical order in the sub menu is nice. The animations are a lot smoother and the overall AI is probably better (the baserunning AI in 2K10 is bad). But the two games simply have a different feel. Batting has a very different feel and the pitching systems are different. That's the one area where 2K10 really does a good job. The gameplay mechanics and results appear to be very good. The cpu will take pitches as well as chase some stuff out of the zone. I'm very happy so far with it. Bat speed and pitch speed are a lot slower in 2K10 so you will struggle to adapt initially from one game to the next. The commentary is great in 2K10. It's good in the Show but it's also stale and they really need to have more interaction between the announcers rather than three solo jobs. I'll probably check out the Show 10 demo in the future but right now I'm only interested in playing 2K10. I do hope they really work on the fielding in a patch. Not only is it very auto driven but I still haven't seen an error - that's going to bug me just like the Show 09 did. The Show 09 drove me a little more nuts because there would be balls that would just disappear through a player and no error was called. But it needs work in 2K10. Rudy, Glad to hear you're liking 2k10. Again, after playing the demo I'm pretty surprised at the leaps they made from 2k9 to 2k10. It still feels like 2k, but it doesn't have that "this kind of sucks" feel to it like the past few years have. |

I guess we need somebody to play both full versions before this thread can really get going |

Not too sure what 2K's point was with that demo. I just played it (PS3) and there is NO way based on that would I even consider renting the show. I knew I wouldn't really like the gameplay of it but I was very interested in the commentary.....well screw me the demo has no commentary.....it really felt like an early build to me. I hate the stick hitting (much like I hate stick swinging in golf games). What's scary is this is a step up too....yikes......I'm sticking with the show.....my one show complaint is they do need to really spend a dev cycle revolutionizing their commentary. |

I just recently played a good deal of games on 2k10....the Show wins IMO. I even played 2K9 and thought it really was not that bad at all. Edited by DC, Mar 29 2010, 11:36 PM.
