He was a big strong guy. He wasn't a guy with an excellent approach or great footwork. I honestly don't think he'll be a very good hitting coach. |

I'm not sure he would be a good hitting coach, didn't he hit in the low 200s for a few seasons and its really hard to learn how to hit for power either you have it or you don't. |

couple things I've heard is that he's worked extensively with Matt Holliday and Skip Schumaker in the last few offseasons. So maybe he's one of those guys that can teach how to be a better hitter although he was pretty one dimensional. Edited by dansaint, Oct 26 2009, 04:49 PM.

His last year was awful in terms of strikeouts. Most of his hits were simply HRs. |
