![]() I decided I'm going to do a University of Miami dynasty. They are a little better than a team I normally start out with but I'm playing on Heisman (sliders adjusted to me since I'm not that great) and this always gives me a challenge. I never like scheduling creampuffs and my ooc schedule includes Illinois, at Florida, Iowa and at Michigan. Winnable games but no gimmies either with Florida being the toughest game. The ACC is fairly balanced but no real powerhouse in the conference either. I'm using Jason19's roster from OS which is updated but does not reflect true 2009 rosters. It includes some of the top ranked recruits on current teams (but buried in depth charts so they redshirt and play next year) but these are largely 2008 rosters. I still have Robert Marve on my team but he was changed to a redshirt senior and I moved him to backup. He actually transferred to Purdue but I didn't bother to move him there. Jacoby Harris will lead the passing attack and my swift and talented group of WRs. In terms of recruiting, I'd like to move to a 3-4 but the current team is clearly suited to a 4-3 right now. I am really short on MLBs next year and my CBs won't be so hot either. I don't have a lot of great young tackles either and will try to shore up the OL, LBs and CB areas in recruiting. |

Week 1 - #18 Illinois at Miami We are both B+ teams and this turned out to be a great game. In fact, it ended up as my new 2nd best game of all time with a greatness in the 1500s. Miami fell behind early 14-0 as their defense forgot how to tackle. But Illinois' defense also suffered a case of poor tackling as the opening day jitters were evident on both sides. There were long TD plays on both sides as Dufrene on Illinois had two long TD runs. Miami's Graig Cooper (RB) also had a long TD run and a long screen pass. Illinois Catch and Run for TD Cooper's Screen Pass for TD One of Dufrene's Long TD Runs That last Dufrene run put Illinois up 31-24 in the 4th quarter. I scored a TD with 37 seconds left on my final drive (converting one 4th down) to tie it at 31. They got two good completions to set up a 38 yard FG attempt with 3 seconds left but their kicker missed the kick wide right as time expired. I was too conservative in OT. We both traded field goals in the first OT. I scored first in the second OT and Illinois got the ball and drove inside my 10 yard line. On 3rd down, Juice completed a TD pass to Benn and I lost 40-37. Great game though! I had one WR drop a crucial pass on Illinois 2 yard line that ended up a pick. Awful. Other notable stats for me: Harris 15-25, 137 yards passing, 0 TD, 1 INT (Marve was 4-8, 1 TD, 1 INT in injury time) Cooper 27-142 3 rush TD (plus one screen pass for TD). Illinois: Juice 23-32 251 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT (11-26 rush) Dufrene 15-169 and two long TDs (51 and 76) Benn 9-83 2 TD receiving I doubt these games will stay this detailed as I keep playing but we shall see how this dynasty report will go. Pretty much Ted. Some people are attempting to make 10 rosters for '09 but there is nothing out there yet. |
