2K5?

I was going through my gameroom today, deciding what games to take and let go before we move. Anyway, I found NFL 2K5 for the PS2, I forgot I had it. I wasn't the biggest fan of that one(04 was my favorite) but I just might pop it in the PS3 and try it out, just for kicks.
Does anyone else still have this game for the PS2 or Xbox?
I do remember this:The Xbox version had a better halftime hightlight show-Probably one of the best for any sports game IMO.
I also remember ALOT of interceptions were thrown by myself and the AI.... The game had an amazing amount of different unis to pick from :waytogo: and the running game was decent from what I remember.
Anyone care to comment on this game or what they remember about it? or are you still playing every now and then? I'm sure this game still has some kind of cult following. Just like MVP 05.

This game had a huge cult following and still does despite the fact the game had major flaws imo. I got the PS2 Hard Drive for my birthday just to get the video half time show rather than the snap shots. I loved 2K4 but 2K5 disappointed me in many ways.

The DB AI was lousy. You had to turn on performance EQ just to get them to be reasonable. And the cpu QBs threw more turnovers than the QBs in NCAA 08! The cpu never threw deep in 2K4 so they fixed that in 2K5 but ruined the decision making in the process.

The momentum animation they added in 2K5 was lousy rather than have true momentum. Just changing directions after a fumble pickoff you could see it twice. Dumb. They ruined the screen pass to the point where you have to hot route the RB to get it to run half decent (again, well done in 2K4). Counter plays were worse as the OL blocking wasn't done well. So many things got worse from 2K4.

They created roster editors to help minimize some of the junk and the game required massive slider tweaks unlike 2K4 to make it playable. I wanted to love this game but the cpu QB AI eventually ruined it for me.

It still has a loyal following, many of whom probably never played 2K4 to see how many things went wrong with 2K5. After not buying Madden 04, I bought Madden 05 after giving up on this game. That was fun for awhile until the boring defensive play and HORRIBLE presentation made that game boring. Many consider '05 to be a great football year but I don't. But it did push me into trying NCAA '06. I bought it blindly over the internet (NCAA couldn't be sold in stores until '07 in Canada) and I loved NCAA '06. Been gaming exclusively with NCAA up until now.

After I traded in Madden 09, I picked it up again to try it, since the Madden's aren't backwards compatible. Still didn't like it. Momentum was way overdone, and it was very difficult to have any control over defense. And franchise was totally broken. You had to completely turn off trades to avoid star players switching teams every game.

I played a game about an hour ago-This game could have been great-The atmosphere ALMOST makes it worth playing anyway. The complaints listed here are very apparent. The AI threw 4 picks to me. The running game was on and off/Alot of dropped passes that should not have been.
Now I know how this game ended out in the bottom pile of my games that will probably become yard sale fodder. I never tried the coach mode, is that just as jacked up as playing against the AI? My guess would be yes, just wondering if anyone tried that. I might try that later if time permits.

I forgot about the screwed up franchise mode. Only one of four positions were drafted in the first round - QB, RB, OT and DE. No LBs, DBs, WRs, etc were ever taken by the cpu in round 1.
