As some of you guys know I sold off my 360 last week since I was going to just use the PS3 as my main console. After a few days seller's remorse hit, so yesterday I went to Best Buy to purchase another 360. Before that I did some research so I can find a Jasper based console, and I thought that I found one. So I get home with a Pro Bundle and I pop it out looking at the back. I guess when I was at the store, I didn't look good enough through the barcode scan hole on the box as you have to push the system a bit to see the tiny lettering. It says 12V, 16.5A, 1A + 203W power supply which equals a Zephyr or Xenon based motherboard. Even the lot was a #843 + manu date of 10/18/08. This system had HDMI, but it looks like MS is trying to clean out inventory of old mobo's. I don't want this to be taken as a knock towards MS, but as a mere warning to those that keep getting 360's and they sound like Rocket Engines. You may think that you have a newer mobo revision by the manu date, but actually its one of the older ones with the 90nm CPU and GPU. What to look for in the back of the 360: 12V, 16.5A, 1A = XENON, ZEPHYR 12V, 14.2A, 1A = FALCON 12V, 12.1A, 1A = JASPER (Right now, can be found easier in Arcade Packs) ![]() ![]() So, I think that I will end up grabbing a Arcade Pack which has the latest mobo revision and slap a 60gb HDD on it. Those on your 2nd or 3rd or 4th, etc. system, before buying one make sure to look for the Amperage on the back of the system. Falcon's and Jasper's are less susceptible to RROD, but they still are getting it but you would be better off with one of these over the original model. Hope this helps. |

Yes. It's going back today. I am in no way the same league as Footballforever. LOL! That guy has gone through more system selling than anyone on OS and here combined. Anyways, he was selling a 360 to buy a PS3, then would do vice versa about 30x. He would have a million excuses for doing it. I don't have any excuses, except that I am a bonehead for doing it.
